A BIT ABOUT US
We started Surfmag Historian in 2022, just as the largest surf related magazine printed its last issue.  We look to document the era of the surf magazine. Legions of surfers waited feverishly for the latest issue to hit their local surf shop or mailbox for the lucky few who had a subscription. Before the dawn of the internet and digital content, surf magazines where the main conduit for several generations of surfers to see distant or new surf breaks and destinations, pro surfers, the latest moves, styles boards and other products. These magazines drove surf travel, board design, clothes, and the surfing culture in general.
